Sternschnuppe (Fleischhauerstraße 78, Lübeck, เยอรมันนี)

Sternschnuppe is a local staple in Lübeck’s café and bar scene, and also a clear favorite of the hometown crowd. As the name might suggest, the inside is cozy and dimly lit, or perhaps starlit. The ambiance offers an intimate atmosphere that is comfortable and warm, and even borders on just plain romantic.
With seating at both the counter and at tables, guests can choose to keep to themselves or engage with others at the bar. The television selection focuses heavily on sports, with both Bundesliga and UEFA matches shown. Indeed, Sternschnuppe is perfect for football fans. The more ambitious of the bunch can also play a game or two of foosball (the English name for the German Kickern) with friends. And in a somewhat American take on sports, the bar also shows the occasional NFL football game. Fans can munch on pizza while cheering for their favorite team.

Sunday nights, however, are special, as Sternschnuppe always airs the weekly “Tatort” episode. And when the television isn’t tuned in, there’s music to be heard. The house plays a variety of music, from Britpop to hip-hop, and the occasional live musician plays in the bar. There is also Montag Musik Massage, a special music-themed offering on
Mondays.
The non-alcoholic specialty here is not the coffee, nor is it the tea, but rather the hot chocolate with marshmallows. Meanwhile, patrons who want to drink can buy a Jever for 2,50, Becks or Rothaus Tannenzäpfle for 2,60, Fritz Verde or Sternschnuppe for 3,50 or Guinness for 3,60. Shots of Lioko Mexikaner and Redrum feature for 1 Euro each. Sternschnuppe is located at Fleischhauserstr. 78 in Innenstadt, which is the old town. The bar is open every day from 7 p.m. until open end and is cash only. It is closest to the Königstraße station.
