The PUB (Rochstraße 14A, Berlin, Germany)

The PUB (Pilsner Unique Bar) isn’t like every other bar in Berlin. Why? The selling point of a place like this is that patrons don’t have to wait on servers to take their orders or bartenders to pour their beer. Instead, with taps stocked full of Berliner Pilsner at every table, customers can choose to drink however much they want, whenever they want. Not only that, but touch screens on the tables also allow people to send their orders for food directly to the kitchen.

Drinks vary from liters of beer at the table (regularly 6,90 Euros but only 5,55 Euros during Happy Hour), to smaller draft selections of Radler, Schöfferhofer Weizen, Krusovice and Guiness. There are also wines and champagnes to choose from, in addition to cocktails, spirits and shots. Even non-alcoholic drinkers will be pleased with the choice of drinks, both hot and cold.

Meanwhile, the menu includes a standard selection of pub fare, including fries, onion rings, baked potatoes with assorted toppings, cheese sticks and nachos. Those who are hungry for more than snacks can order salads, soups, chicken wings, fish and chips, or even spaghetti. There are also German specialities available, such as currywurst and chicken.

On the second Tuesday of every month, The PUB is the place to be; with an entrance fee of 10 euros at the door, customers can drink as much draft beer as they’d like.

For the sports fan, The PUB is ideal, showing soccer matches nearly every day. Even Americans won’t feel left out, with American football games shown as well. When matches aren’t being aired, there’s a jukebox, and from time to time The PUB features live DJs.

The PUB is located at Rochstraße 14A, near Alexanderplatz in Berlin, one of the prime meeting points in the center of the city. It is a short walk from bars like Play Berlin and Cancun and directly by U-Bahn and S-Bahn station Alexanderplatz.
