NO FIRE NO GLORY Kaffee Bar (Rykestr. 45, Berlin, Germany)

Make no mistake: No Fire, No Glory is first and foremost an espresso
bar. Owners Ralf Berlit and Manuela Berger strive to make their café a
cozy destination that melds a modern edge and a vintage touch. And so
far, so good; this coffee shop has been heralded as one of the best in
Berlin.

After the old location in Friedrichshain closed down, No Fire, No
Glory! relocated to its current spot in a hip section of Prenzlauer
Berg, throwing a grand re-opening party in May of 2011.

The coffee shop gets its beans from two Berlin roasters, Bonanza
Coffee Heroes and Coffee Collective, and places an emphasis on
remaining fair trade. Each cup is individually brewed and made to
specification, resulting in an articulate, fresh flavor.

Coffee standards, such as cappuccinos and lattes, are also available,
and the vegan and lactose intolerant crowds can rest easy knowing that
soy milk is always an option.

Yet regardless of the quality, coffee is always served best alongside
an edible companion. At No Fire, No Glory!, tarts, cakes, pies, bagels
and other sweet baked goods feature. For those seeking something
savory, the café also offers meat and vegetarian pies, as well as
soup. And recognizing that not everyone is a coffee fanatic, the
coffee shop lists smoothies on its menu.

Patrons looking for more adult beverages can also choose from
champagne and prosecco, beer, and a selection of long drinks.

No Fire, No Glory! is open daily at 9 a.m. on the weekdays and 10 a.m.
on the weekends, with the exception of Mondays, when it’s closed. Most
nights, the lights go out at 8 p.m., although the coffee shop is open
until 10 p.m. on Saturdays. The café offers free wifi for its guests
and is rare in that it accepts credit cards in addition to cash.

Located at Rykestr. 45, No Fire, No Glory! is situated near a spectrum
of restaurants, from sushi bars (Gingi’s Izakaya) to burger joints
(MarienBurger) to breakfast cafés (Anna Blume). Riders on the U-Bahn
line 2 can get out at Senefelderplatz or Eberswalder Straße and walk a
short distance. The M2 tram also stops nearby.
