Deseo (Boxhagener Str. 108, 10245 Berlin, Berlin, Germany)

With a name that means “desire” (in Spanish), Deseo is a restaurant and bar guaranteed to fulfill your culinary desires – or at least try. Breakfasts range from 4,20 Euro for basic cereal with fresh fruit, honey, and yogurt or milk, all the way to 18,80 Euro for a two-person meal complete with meats, cheeses, eggs, olives, fruit and a choice of two glasses of champagne or orange juice.

The lunch and dinner menus offer a variety of specialty meat dishes made with the finest ingredients. These entrees range from pork medallions, veal goulash, and wiener schnitzel, to ox cheeks, grilled salmon filet, and lamb ragout.

Pasta also has its place on the menu, with a selection including arrabiata, gorgonzola, pesto, fettuccine, gnocchi and dumplings. Those wishing for a lighter meal or an accompaniment to the entrees can pick from multiple soups and salads.

And don’t forget dessert! With a choice of apple strudel,honey-rosemary parfait, strawberry panna cotta, or the simplistic but always delicious ice cream, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.

Deseo has Happy Hour specials daily from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with every cocktail priced at 4,90 Euro. More than 90 cocktails figure on the menu, in addition to shots of hard alcohol across the board. Drinks can be enjoyed inside or on the outdoor patio.

Patrons can choose from König Pilsener, Lübzer Pils, Meisel’s Weisse Original and Köstritzer Schwarzbier on tap for 2,40 Euro each, or bottles of beer ranging from Budweiser, San Miguel and Corona, to Carlsberg, Becks and Desperados.

There is also sparkling wine and champagne. The wine list features red and white wines from Italy, Spain, France and Germany. The prices start at 14,30 Euro per bottle, with the most expensive priced at 45,50 Euro.

Deseo is located at Boxhagener Str. 108 on the corner of Niederbarnimstraße in Friedrichsain. It is only a short walk from MITO Café Bar Kamin-Lounge. The closest public transportation stop is Frankenfurter Tor on U-Bahn line 5. The restaurant is open on Monday through Friday at 4 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. Closing time every day of the week is open end.
